Introduction
The foremost objective and commitment of the Council of Islamic Guidance Inc.(CIG) is providing religious, spiritual, cultural and social guidance to members of the community living in Toronto and its vicinity. Al Mahdi Islamic Center had gone through different stages, from temporary units to a permanent place in Pickering . We where certainly blessed to commemorate various Occasions, Seminars, Conferences and Events around the year for the past 15 years. Click the dunamic presentation below about the new center:
Muslims are immigrating to Canada, more so in large numbers in the recent past to seek a better quality of life and it is incumbent on us to seek better quality of life in this world and here-after. It is also our obligation to preserve our faith, our beliefs, our religion and our precious Islamic values. We have always done it in the past and we should continue to do it in the future. With this plan we are widening our horizons where all the Muslim brothers and sisters of various nationalities will merge, mix and interact with each other. We have a commitment towards ourselves and towards our future generation. The community members have done it once by setting up Al Mahdi Center. With the will of Allah swt, we can do it one more time under the same guidance of Allah swt, the Prophet(s) and our Imams(as). We have an Islamic and moral obligation towards our children. We should provide them an appropriate Islamic environment where they grow with present lifestyles. It is an obligation on us to bring up our children according to the time and age.
Stagnant life is life wasted. There is no stagnancy in Islam. Islam demands constant challenges and growth towards greater goal. There is no greater service than service to mankind. Setting up an impressive multi-purpose center that propagates knowledge and that provides wide range of activities to the Muslims is possibly a great vision and a great service to mankind for which the reward is non-comprehensible.
We should leave behind a center that would be a source of pride and inspiration for our future generations and that would help them to shape their lives according to the true teachings of Islam.
